Sign-in flow tries to add new account to device |
|||
Issue descriptionVersion: 54.0.1812.1 OS: Android NPD90G on a Nexus 9 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Set up new device, logged into me@gmail.com (2) Install Chrome Dev. (3) Disable Chrome. (So the only browser is Chrome Dev. (4) Run Chrome Dev. (5) Get prompted to sign in. (6) Optional: Click No Thanks, then go to Settings | Sign in to Chrome (7) See the "Sign in to Chrome\nSign in with your Google Account to get ... on all your devices" screen. (8) Press the blue SIGN IN button. What is the expected output? Chrome should offer to sign in to me@gmail.com. What do you see instead? It's as if I went to OS-Settings | Accounts | Add Account | Google. Of course, it doesn't let me sign into me@google.com because that account is already on the device.

Does Chrome Dev have the necessary permissions? Go to Android Settings > Apps > Chrome Dev > Permissions, and make sure all the boxes are checked.

This was a new device, and I hadn't unchecked any permission boxes, so any missing ones would be bugs in Chrome. I have since managed to sign in on this Nexus 9, so either it's fixed or I did something since then that worked around it.

Marking as WontFix then. For local builds of Chrome, the permissions aren't checked by default. But it sounds like that wasn't the issue. |
