Issue descriptionChrome Version : 52.0.2743.116 (64-bit) URLs (if applicable) : https://jsfiddle.net/qwkxjzbd/ Other browsers tested: No (It is for Chrome Autofill feature) Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari: Firefox: IE: What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Make sure that the Autofill is enabled in setting (check "Enable Autofill to fill out web forms in a single click.) (2) Open this JSFiddle https://jsfiddle.net/qwkxjzbd/ (3) Enter the input values (name, email, confirm email) and click "Submit" What is the expected result? Per the support document below, a prompt to save the form information is expected to show up. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142893?p=settings_autofill&rd=1 "After filling out a form, you may see a prompt to save the information. If you want Chrome to add the info to Autofill, click Save." What happens instead? The form is submitted without display a prompt to save it in Autofill. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

We only offer to save for particularly sensitive information (e.g. credit cards). I agree that the help doc wording could be more clear. Going to mark this as WAI and file a HC article bug to make it more clear.

(1) I created a new JSFiddle https://jsfiddle.net/vdjcb0kc/1/ with a credit card field, but the prompt is not still displayed. (2) For non-sensitive information like name, is it supposed to be saved automatically when a form is submitted or does it have to be entered manually in Autofill setting to save it? Can you also please give me the reference of the article bug if possible? |
