What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Visit https://jsfiddle.net/k5k5dczu/2/
(2) Select one of the text items by dragging in from the space to its left.

What is the expected output?
The text selection should start at the start of the chosen text and end at the mouse position. This is the intuitive behaviour and is what Firefox does.

What do you see instead?
For items 1 and 2, the text selection starts at the mouse position and ends at the end of item 3. For item 3, it behaves as expected.

If display:flex is not used, the behaviour is as expected.
