TrackPoint use resets TouchPad's scrolling position

Reported by jormang...@gmail.com, Aug 8 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.103 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Scroll a webpage with TouchPad to new position.
2. Move the mouse pointer with the TrackPoint.
3. Scroll again with the TouchPad, and the scrolling begins from the beginning.

What is the expected behavior?
Scrolling should be continued from the current position.

What went wrong?
Using a TrackPoint after scrolling with a TouchPad, will mess up further scrolling with a TouchPad from that point. The scrolling continues from the the first position where the element was before any scrolling with a TouchPad.

Did this work before? No

Chrome version: 51.0.2704.103 Channel: n/a
OS Version:
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

Tested with the following configuration on a ThinkPad W500:

Logitech Anywhere MX (/dev/input/event12)
SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad (/dev/input/event4)
TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint (/dev/input/event5)

This error occurs only with the TouchPad scrolling and TrackPoint usage.
If I use the MX mouse to scroll to a certain point and use the TrackPoint, the scrolling resumes from the that point either with the MX or the TouchPad. If I scroll from that point with the TouchPad and the use the TrackPoint, then when scrolling with the TouchPad resumes from the point that was scrolled into with the MX mouse, and not from the top of the page.

It doesn't matter if TouchPad scrolling is two-finger, edge, or circular scrolling.

I haven't experienced this kind of behaviour with other software.

Could some one from MTV Team please look into the issue as it also has to be tested on ThinkPad W500 with the specific configuration provided.
Thank You.
