Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.116 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4486681/layout-bug.html Steps to reproduce the problem: Just open the url, if not available here is the entire contents: <!doctype html> <html lang=en> <head> <meta charset=utf-8> <title>Weird chrome layout bug</title> <style type="text/css"> body { font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; } a { float: left; font-size: 18px; } small { font-size: 85%; } </style> </head> <body> <a href="">HQ SS <small>(v0.10.0-1)</small></a> </body> </html> What is the expected behavior? It must be a one line block What went wrong? But for some unknown reason it wraps Does it occur on multiple sites: No Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 52.0.2743.116 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 This is a tricky issue, since it only is reproducible on my machine among a lot of people I asked. But it is reproducible here even under a new windows OS user profile with a google chrome installed from scratch In the attachments you can see how it renders. And as I mentioned - it's not any extensions/plugins that mess up with the DOM, since it is reproducible in 100% of cases even in an empty google profile or on just installed google chrome instance. The behaviour is highly sensitive to the anchor text contents - it's unpredictable: one added/removed letter may "fix" it or break again. Also attaching another screenshot with the actual DOM state just to demonstrate that there is nothing on the page that might have shrunk the block.

Verified the issue on Chrome Stable# 52.0.2743.116 and Chrome Canary# 54.0.2824.2 on Windows. Navigated to the URL provided in the issue and could not reproduce the issue. Also attaching a screenshot for reference. Please let us know if anything else is missing. Thanks in Advance.

Nothing is missing: I have explicitly stated - that across a dozen of different machines it is only one that is affected: it is my personal working station.

More details: now it's reproducible on the other machine in the office :-S (the same OS + chrome versions)

Confirmed in 52, appears to have been fixed in canary. Could you please try it in a canary build to verify? Thank you.

It's not reproducible on `Version 54.0.2835.0 canary (64-bit)` for me.
