Backspace does not go back to previous page

Reported by ian.spei...@gmail.com, Aug 5 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.116 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a web page
2. Click on a link
3. Once on the new page, press the backspace key

What is the expected behavior?
Go back to the previous page

What went wrong?
No action at all.

Did this work before? Yes Last version installed by my company's IT service

Chrome version: 52.0.2743.116 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

This is a huge regression: after 20 years of using this hot key behaviour it no longer works. Will move to IE or Firefox if not solved. YES!!! THIS IS A BLOCKING ISSUE!

"Please click "Alt + Left / Right Arrow" to navigate to previous page or vice versa." This is not a solution.
