Tabs are too small on latest version

Reported by lostjour...@gmail.com, Aug 5 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.116 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Opening a new window.
2. Looking at the tabs.
3. Noticing they're too small.

What is the expected behavior?
The tabs shouldn't be small.

What went wrong?
Tabs were reduced in size, turning from normal size to thinner.

Did this work before? No

Chrome version: 52.0.2743.116 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

It should be resized in the next update or so.

No hope unable to reproduce the issue on latest chrome stable M52-52.0.2743.116. By looking at your screen-shot it looks normal as expected.

Considering this as FR and looping UI (Tab strip) team to look in to it further.

Thanks!

Screenshot looks fine to me.
It doesn't look fine to me since I have a huge monitor. So for the time being, I'm just going to stick to Chrome Beta until this is fixed.

The height is slightly taller now thanks to other changes, but the width looks the same between the two images. Am I missing something?
From where I see it, it could be my monitor being that wide.
Is the claim that Chrome 52 (stable) tabs look small compared to Chrome 53 (beta)? If so, that's because Chrome 53 changed the tab shape and metrics, so tabs appear to be visually larger. However, the default width is actually the same as before.
I can see where this is going now. Tabs are so thin on stable version, but are now different on beta. I like the one on Beta, and I will stick to it.
