Data saver incorrectly showing old cached version of a page |
|
Issue descriptionChrome Version : dev 53.0.2782.2 Android version : N public beta URLs (if applicable) : http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/ The site listed is updated daily or more, but visiting with data saver turned on serves a copy of the page that's several weeks old even after several refreshes. Turning data saver off fixes the issue, and turning it back on again serves the old cached copy. I can repro this not only on Chrome on Android, but also on my Chromebook using the data saver extension. See attached screenshots. In the data saver version, the content is different and you can see that the updated date is old in the upper right corner.

Being tracked internally as b/30428428. Root cause is that the site owners set very long cache-control headers, so this is not technically a bug, but we have been trying to help mitigate the problem for them by flushing our caches. |
