No content is displayed on clicking the extension icon in "Weather" extension

Chrome Version:53.0.2785.45 (Official Build) 70a7d200b65a4bc8fa957bfa8a8ad8bc8f429bdb-refs/branch-heads/2785@{#477} 32/64-bit.
OS: Windows (7,8,8.1,10), Linux(14.04 LTS) and Mac(10.10.5, 10.11.4)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Launch chrome,navigate to above url and click on 'Add to Chrome'.
(2)Click on extension icon, in Extensions overlay,observe.

Actual:No content is displayed on clicking the extension icon.

Expected:content should be displayed on clicking the extension icon.

This is a Non-regression issue seen from M-33(i.e 33.0.1701.2)
