I can't repro this. The first URL in the video is actually a redirect through goo.gl (goo.gl/GVVvGd). What intent extras are you passing when you trigger the VIEW intent? Also, you have a homepage enabled. When that happens, closing the last tab closes the browser. I'm suspecting that something in the redirect chain was triggering a tab closure and causing this to happen.
