Is this report about showing the PlayStore app showing white screen due to
low memory and hang? If so, this is a Chromium/Blink bug tracker, and it
cannot be helped.

It is interesting that firefox is working fine. Do you mean that the app
store link from firefox work well and open the PlayStore app without hang?

I am not sure how much "bad network connectivity" is related to this issue.
This is not the place that reporting issues about Google services in general.

Could you clarify what is the issue that Chromium/Blink can solve?

Comment 2 by bau...@gmail.com, Aug 3 2016

Problem is chrome open playstore and close tab = not display website.

I think Chinese not insert play store link, because no Google in China!

Firefox not open playstore, not full memory with not requested apps, and display website. (Better, No? )

Components: Mobile>Intents
baudav@ thanks for the feedback.

So, in China,
- Chrome opens play store app from the link, but the store app shows nothing.
- Firefox doesn not open play store app from the link, and shows play store website instead

is my understanding correct?

As it is hard to reproduce this outside China, it would be helpful if
you can attach screenshots of Chrome and Firefox to show how they work
don't work.

I don't see any feedback yet.
At least some screenshots would be appreciated.

Comment 7 by bau...@gmail.com, Aug 16 2016

Hi,
can't reproduce since @home (France).
I not downloaded webpage because in China, when open link it's open GooglePlayStore Application with blank screen (blank because from China no access to google service); and when go back to chrome, tab is already close.
No screenshot, it's just blank screen

Now page display foreground frame with link to playstore, and tab stay displayed.

Perhaps not bug, but request to not auto launch APPS (actually must install tier apps to intercept or other apps to same action). Exemple: now if open playstore link, popup request to open with Chrome,PlayStore or Firefox; and I can cancel.
I not return in China this year.. and now can use GoogleServices

Hi baudav@, thanks for the feedback.

> Exemple: now if open playstore link, popup request to open with Chrome,PlayStore or Firefox; and I can cancel.

I think this is the current behavior, no?

Comment 9 by bau...@gmail.com, Aug 16 2016

Yes, it's the current behavior, and it's good.
perhaps site have been updated or not same from China. When website use intent "market:" it's open directly GooglePlayStore ? no ? without request because only playStore open market link?

Comment 10 by kochi@chromium.org, Aug 16 2016

I'm not sure whether Chrome on Android understands "market:" URL, but I'm sure
if the link is "https://play.google.com/store..." Chrome will ask you which one
(browser, play store app, etc. that can handle the URL) to launch.

If you think the current behavior is good enough, could you close this issue
yourself?

Comment 11 by bau...@gmail.com, Aug 16 2016

but link to market:// not request user before open.
Perhaps good for chinese user, that never use GooglePlay but alternative market (use less memory).
Open url is same: it request because I have more apps to open it (since I installed Firefox) and never say to always use one.

Comment 12 by kochi@chromium.org, Aug 17 2016

Is that because you have only one app that can handle market:// URL?

This issue seems a bit derailed, baudav@, what exactly do you want to see
in Android Chrome?

Comment 13 by bau...@gmail.com, Aug 17 2016

I want a popup before Chrome closes the tab to launch another application.

Thanks baudav@.

Routing to Mobile>Intents, could you triage this as a request?
