Issue descriptionChrome Version:54.0.2814.0 (Official Build) e0d4e8e3266cc2a7b8dcecfeff30ce101eac9a8b-refs/heads/master@{#408878}-32/64 bit OS: Windows (7,8,8.1,10),Linux (14.04 LTS),Mac OS X(10.10.5, 10.11.4) Steps: 1. Launch Chrome and navigate to chrome://history 2. Click on 'Synced tabs' and sign in to Chrome. 3. Now click on any link and observe. Actual: Link opens in same tab and chrome://history page is closed. Expected: Link should open in New tab and chrome://history page should not close. This is a regression issue broken in M-54, will soon update bisect info.

Adding Release block label, please undo if not the case.

This is actually working as intended. We now correctly restore the context of the tab, including the browsing history. You can verify that this is how it used to work in the old history page by visiting chrome://history-frame.

With response to comment #4, Above issue is not seen on old history page as it is reproducible only via Synced tab of new history page. After step 3, when clicked on back navigation button ominibox url changes to chrome://history/syncedTabs in good build where it is not the case in bad build. @tsergeant, please look into this and verify whether this is intended behavior.
