Tested the same on win8.1 chrome version 52.0.2743.82 and canary 54.0.2815.0 with the URL https://www.google.co.il/#q=.addEventListener(%22change%22 - Observed the google results for .addEventListener("change"

Could you please replicate the same on a new profile and let us know the observations.

Seems there is a problem with some extension added to your profile. Try disabling extensions in chrome://extensions to see if one of them is the culprit.
