Sign in to Chromium 54 fails on Win 10

Chrome Version       : 54.0.2811.0 
URLs (if applicable) : chrome://settings/
Other browsers tested:
  Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
     Safari: n/a
    Firefox: n/a
         IE: n/a

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Menu | Settings | Sign in to Chromium
(2)
(3)

What is the expected result? On other PCs, Windows and Linux both, I can sign in.


What happens instead? I enter username and password, the same password which lets me sign in on other PCs, and it returns me to Settings and I have not successfully signed in.


Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

I have tried clearing cache and cookies, reinstalling Chromium, and clearing sync data, all to no avail.

Unable to reproduce the issue on win10 chrome version 54.0.2813.0 - signed into chromium successfully

Could you please try the same on a new profile and update the thread with observations.
