Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.82 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Install Chrome Remote Desktop (CRD) App on a computer running Win 7 without admin privileges. 2. Launch the app 3. Under "My Computers" click "Enable remote connections 4. It asks you to download CRD Host Installer; click "Accept and Install" 5. A prompt opens asking you to save a file named "chromeremotedesktophost.msi"; save the file. 6. Find the file on the Windows computer and double click it. 7. Windows asks if you want to run the file; click "Run" 8. Installation process begins but is interrupted by a prompt saying "You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine. Log on as administrator and then retry this installation." 9. Click "OK" button; installation of CRD host fails. What is the expected behavior? The CRD Host should install What went wrong? Windows blocked the CRD Host from installing due to insufficient admin privileges. See the attached image. WebStore page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chrome-remote-desktop/gbchcmhmhahfdphkhkmpfmihenigjmpp?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon Did this work before? Yes A year or two ago (yeah, I know that's not very specific) Chrome version: 52.0.2743.82 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 I was able to install the CRD Host file without admin privileges a year or so ago. I believe it auto-updated in the background after I initially installed it (like what Chrome does). I recently had to uninstall it and now I can't install it. |
