Telerik Kendo UI Masked Textbox not working

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Implement KendoUI Masked Textbox (e.g. http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/maskedtextbox/index)
2. Open on Chrome on mobile device
3. Type into the input textbox

What is the expected behavior?
The caret is supposed to move to the next position according to the specified mask

What went wrong?
The caret does not move but stays at the same position 

Did this work before? Yes At oldest 44.0.2403.133 (may be newer. Not sure in which version between 44 and 51 it stooped working)

Chrome version: 51.0.2704.81  Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0
