SVG image element invisible

Issue description

Chrome Version       : Version 51.0.2704.103 (64-bit)
URLs (if applicable) : http://ether.d34dman.com/themes/custom/ether_york/logo.svg
Other browsers tested:
  Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
     Safari: OK Version 9.1.1 (11601.6.17)
    Firefox: OK Version 37.0.1
         IE:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Embed a svg file with image element into a html page in an img tag.
(2) Try to view the page in chrome.

What is the expected result?
We expect to see the rendered image.

What happens instead?
A transparent image will be shown.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

If the actual image is visited, then it is rendered properly. For example,
The following tag won't render <img src="/themes/custom/ether_york/logo.svg" alt="Boozebay"> but http://ether.d34dman.com/themes/custom/ether_york/logo.svg will be.

Thanks for the report.

Not able to reproduce on Chrome stable 52.0.2743.82, Beta 52.0.2743.82,Dev 53.0.2785.21 and Canary 54.0.2805.0 tried on Win7, Mac OS X 10.11.5, Ubuntu 14.04 attached screenshot for reference.

Could you please try with the latest chrome version and let us know if the issue still persists, also please provide your OS details.

This sounds like it could be a dupe of issue 620054?

I see 'img/png' used as the MIME-type here - the correct one would be 'image/png' - if you change that, then does it make a difference?
@nyerramilli@chromium.org sorry the link i posted doesn't showcase the problem. It is invisible only if you embed it in "img" tag.

seems so, sorry for wrong posting, my search result didn't show up that issue.

Yes, changing img/png to image/png fixes the issue. (Attaching corrected file for reference).
