Chrome and Talkback support for labels with basic HTML controls |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. with talkback running , in chrome Go to: http://blackspheretech.com/temp/formTest.html 2. Set granularity to navigate by control (by form control). 3. Swipe right through the 3 pulldown comboboxes, even though the 2nd and 3rd control have properly labelled form controls, talkback fails to read labels. What is the expected behavior? talkback should read name, role, value of control What went wrong? Just reads role and value. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 54.0.2804.0 Channel: dev OS Version: Android 7/N Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

OK, the issue here is that Android accessibility doesn't have any way to express both the name and value of a control, we can only return one string. This has been an issue for a long time but we need TalkBack and Android to add support first before we can take advantage of it. We're hoping to have a solution in TalkBack 5.2.
