Ctrl+shift arrow word selection should behave well with underscores |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionVersion: 51.0.2704.106 OS: Linux What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) In any input field, type "abc._def" (2) With the cursor at the end, press Ctrl+Shift+Left What is the expected output? I would expect that only "_def" is selected. When the cursor is at the beginning and I press Ctrl+Shift+Right I get "abc", so I expected something similar from the right What do you see instead? Entire text "abc._def" is selected I particularly want this behavior so that in the DevTools console, I could easily extract just a property name after entering something like "instance.property" using the shortcut I'm used to. Is this something we can change for all inputs, or something that developers should tailor for their input fields? Note, in Firefox, word selection from the right catches "def", while selection from the left catches "abc._"

Good call tkent@, I think this is a dupe. Periods are fine, it's really the underscores that this bug is about. xiaochengh@ feel free to merge with 447339
