getBoundingClientRect for Range objects does not return correct fractional widths |
||||||||
Issue descriptionVersion: Canary, Tot, July 20th 2016 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Visit http://codepen.io/anon/pen/akYvkO (2) Observe output of getBoundingClientRect().width for sub ranges of the text run What is the expected output? Not 100% clear yet, but if subpixel layout is enabled, then correct fractional values should appear for the whole text as well as subranges. What do you see instead? On Mac, Chromium reports a fractional value for the complete width, but not for sub ranges, which does not seem right. On Linux, Chromium reports fractional values with identical fractional part, which does not seem right. On Windows (through Remote Desktop), Chromium reports fractional values with identical fractional part, which does not seem right.
