Graphical corruption and crashes on an AMD card on Linux

Issue description

Version: 51.0.2704.79
OS: Ubuntu 14.04

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Run browser

After a while tooltips and context menus will render as black rectangles.
Occasionally renderers crash. Various other graphical issues present, like pages not redrawn at all when switching tabs. Problem can be worked around with --disable-gpu.

Issue is not new in M51, was happening for at least a couple months.

My gpu is a VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Caicos [Radeon HD 6450/7450/8450 / R5 230 OEM]

It would also appear that if I leave the glitching chromium browser open overnight, it will eventually cause X to crash.

This is an old version of Mesa and the open-source AMD driver. The best thing to do would be for Chrome to blacklist all of its GPU support on it.

Fine by me, for what it's worth; chrome is unusable on this machine without --disable-gpu anyway. Notably, Firefox works, even with webgl, but that's beside the point.

Do you need any further information from me? I'm about to do some upgrades which may or may not affect the bug state.

Disable all GPU on Linux Mesa driver 10.1.3 or older.

This driver is reported to render incorrectly and crash.  The most common crash
is in gpu::gles2::GLES2DecoderImpl::HandleReadPixels, and is happening
on multiple GPU vendors and types with this driver version.
