Support three-finger click to open tab in background (when not bound to QuickLook)

Reported by wout.mer...@gmail.com, Jul 17 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.106 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Procure a system with a reliable multi-touch trackpad, like a MacBook with a force-touch trackpad
2. Perform a three finger click on a link

What is the expected behavior?
Behaves the same as a middle click, meaning, it background-opens the link in a new tab

What went wrong?
it behaves the same as a single-finger click

Did this work before? No

Chrome version: 51.0.2704.106 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.11.5
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

I understand that ChromeOS supports this.

All I am asking is that if the trackpad can report three-finger clicks, that Chromium uses that information to the user's delight.

Changing the status to Untriaged as this is a Feature Request.
Thank You.

Summary: Support three-finger click to open tab in background (when not bound to QuickLook) (was: Support three-finger click to open tab in background)
[mac triage] Three-finger tap on Mac is QuickLook unless you have a Force Touch trackpad (where it's a force-touch).

Otherwise, this seems useful. Nicer than Cmd+Click.
Hi I'm interested in tackling this! First time contrib w/ src and code checked out and compiling. Just need to know where I can find existing code to work from! :-D

Not sure what you mean - if you have the code checked out you have all of the existing code.
Sorry for being unclear. I was wondering if anyone could point me to where in the source this should be implemented.

Or even better maybe an example of how chromium is already handling similar events so I can use that as my guide to learning how to implement this gesture detection.

@ tapted@chromium.ord - should the "Hotlist-Recharge-Cold" also not be removed as per the Sheriff?

BTW, I'd like to point out that there ference between three-finger tap and three-finger click. MacOS can detect both, I'm talking about three-finger click.
