CVox+Period does not bring up menu of options as happened in previous iterations of Chromevox Next

Reproduction Steps: 
1. Launch Chromevox Next
2. Search+Period on any website.
Expected: A list is presented to the user of various options and lists to choose from. I don't remember what this was called.
Actual: I am not able to consistently bring up this menu anymore. Most often, it doesn't appear at all.

But 625449 ought to be merged with this one as I believe it's the same issue.
