High CPU usage with canvas/requestAnimationFrame (>250%)

Reported by nexttono...@iname.com, Jul 15 2016

Issue description

Operating System : Macintosh OS X 10.10.5
Chrome Version : 50.0.2661.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)
URLs (if applicable) : example at http://pixijs.github.io/examples/
Other browsers tested:
     Safari: OK

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open URL
(2) Open Activity Monitor
(3) Sort by CPU usage
(4) Helper process using >200% CPU

What is the expected result?
CPU usage should be relatively low. Recorded around 8-15% on Safari.

What happens instead?
CPU is constantly >100%, usually >200%

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

I recall this happing in previous versions, however it seemed to stop after auto-update (no doubt). It seems like an intermittent issue.

This is not exclusive to the URL given. This is happing on my project, which is completely unrelated to Pixijs (no link available, however).

CPU/Memory dumps and sample attached.
Also captured a TimelineRawData file which is available on request (276MB).
