What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Go to file:///var/log/messages
(2) Right click, Save As...
(3) Save

What is the expected output?
A notification appears at the bottom telling me it's finished downloading, including the file's true size (967 KB in my case).

What do you see instead?
A notification appears at the bottom telling me it's finished downloading that sais the file was "1 B".
