Hi !
TL;DR : It would be nice to have different profiles available to sync applications & extensions in chrome/chromeos, allowing to keep the sync enabled without having useless/platform specific extensions.
---
I'm using several devices, computer/laptop/chromebook, and therefore running different OSes (win/linux/chromeos) and/or context (corp laptop/personal device).
Depending on the situation/platform that I'm using, I install extensions that are not really useful on other platforms (by example "Keep Awake" on chromeos, which is rather useless on other platforms) or redundant as I may use a desktop app on osx by example, and use an extension on linux because the desktop app doesn't exist.
The only "solution" I have so far is to disable sync, which is not really convenient.
It would be nice to have a "main/default" sync profile, then be able to create additional/custom ones that we could select/create when enabling sync on a device.
