Unable to reproduce the issue on Windows 7 using chrome latest stable M51-51.0.2704.106. Observed no delay in loading the pages and as well as images. youngmin.yoo@ - Is this issue seen on incognito mode as well? And please let us know on which platform you are facing this issue.

@brajkumar, incognito mode also slow. More details 1) youtube.com account sign-out 2) Compare Browser - Chrome stable and Safari in Windows 7 - Chrome stable and Safari in MacOSX Good : Other resources loading is more fast(video thumb and AD) Bad : "Best of Youtube" yt-thumb-clip image loading is slow. youtube.com yt-thumb-clip example. <span class="yt-thumb-clip"> <img alt="" height="20" src="//i.ytimg.com/i/zuqhhs6NWbgTzMuM09WKDQ/1.jpg" aria-hidden="true" width="20">

Able to reproduce the issue on Windows 7, Ubuntu 14.04 and Mac OS 10.11.5 using chrome latest stable-51.0.2704.106 by following test case provided in the comment #3. Observed the clip images loading slowly compared to other browser. This issue is seen on earlier version of chrome M35-35.0.1849.0 as well, Hence marking it as untriaged.

Cross-browser comparisons are hard: some things could be slower to load, while other things are faster. Chrome could prioritize the thumbnails higher because it is more important (at least it seems more important to me, so it would be working-as-intended). I do not have a Safari at hand => hard to test :( To be able to proceed we need two screen records: one from Chrome, one from Safari. Sorry for this extra burden.

As per comment #7 providing chrome screen-cast from windows-10 and safari screen-cast from Mac OS 10.11.6. Note: Issue is not observed on Mac OS 10.11.6 on chrome latest stable M52-52.0.2743.116

In both cases a broken image is shown, which should not happen on youtube.com, did you forget to add https:// to the html? Why did you use a different file with Safari? Is sample.html not working for demo purposes? Can you attach it please? Please: * reproduce with screencast and non-broken image * separately reproduce with a chrome trace and attach it here (preferably only with two windows open: one for chrome://tracing and another for the test page) Thank you.

@brajkumar, I think there is something wrong with your test. you should compare with left side red-icon in youtube.com page.

I changed it to Needs-Review because I noticed that sheriffbot@ has set it before, and then brajkumar@ took it (from some magic list?) I dunno how this works, but Needs-Feedback seems to fit less because this would ask for feedback from youngmin.yoo@, which is sufficient at the moment.

c11 seems to be comparing image load timeouts? As Safari isn't available on Win anymore, it is too hard to do reasonable comparison at this point. |
