<video> element showing white box

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 8481.0.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2773.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:

What is the expected behavior?
The video should be playing.

What went wrong?
Instead of video there's just a white box.

Did this work before? N/A 

Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? HTML5

Does this work in other browsers? N/A 

Chrome version: 53.0.2773.0  Channel: dev
OS Version: 8481.0.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

This is affecting Reddit mp4 previews and Telegram GIFs, both show up as white boxes instead of the animated image.

randfur@gmail.com, what Chromebook model are you using? I use ChromeBook LINK + Chrome 54.0.2792.0, I don't see this bug. The video on https://jsfiddle.net/xfpocL36/ plays normally.
no response from bug opener for > 3 weeks. close this bug.
