Chrome spell check not working

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.103 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Start an email
2. Type incorrect text

What is the expected behavior?
Type incorrect text and errors are underlined

What went wrong?
No underlining occurs

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 51.0.2704.103  Channel: n/a
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

I have set the Language and Privacy settings as recommended in other posts.

And now it is working again. This is the second time it has done this. Stops working for no apparent reason, then starts working. This time, the Enable Spell checking on Language was disabled and the use a web service for spell check were disabled without my making the changes. However, resetting them did not immediately resolve the issue.

The previous time, I did nothing to stop or start it. 

Is there some problem that changed profile settings without my knowledge?

Status: WontFix (was: Unconfirmed)
Profile settings can be changed by malicious software or disk errors. Try running a virus scan and check disk for errors. You can also reset your profile in chrome://settings/search#reset%20settings and re-install Chrome.
