Issue descriptionThis is just driving me crazy. I'm a musician and I use my Mac in live performance -- only to hear a little chime and a note in the upper righthand corner of the screen telling me that I've got a phone call on my iphone or that someone has posted on facebook or you name it. Information popups all the time. This never used to happen. I have notifications blocked and pop-ups blocked. But on they go. Is there anything I can do other than get rid of Chrome to stop this? drpgleeson@gmail.com

If you go to chrome://settings/content, scroll down to "Notifications", you can control whether Chrome notifications are enabled. The default is "Ask when a site wants to show notifications" and you can click on "Manage Exceptions" to see which sites have this permission. You can then revoke it from individual sites, or change the global toggle to "Do not allow".

Do the notifications display an origin below their text? They may be coming from an extension, in which case the content settings don't work. Identifying the offending extension would be the way to go in that case. If they do, there's a small cog on the notification that allows you to revoke permission for that website through content settings (effectively #3). In either case, we're planning to switch to using the native Mac notification center in the near future, in which case your DND settings will be honored as you'd expect.
