Search Bar Overlays Google Logo

Reported by hyunl...@gmail.com, Jul 8 2016

Issue description

Chrome Version : <51.0.2704.106 (64-bit)>
URL :https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=define+broken+webpage&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=d&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=#hl=en&tbs=qdr:d&q=google

Behavior in Safari 4.x/5.x:None
Behavior in Firefox 3.x/4.x:None

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Be on Google's Desktop site (in the U.S.) and search any word on Google
(2)Go to "Advanced search" located under settings menu on the right-hand side
(3)Locate "last update" section and change the field to any option except "anytime" (Ex. choose "past week")
(4)Click "Advanced search" button on the bottom
(5)Once you're redirected to Google's search page, click the search button. (Note: before you click the search button, you may change the content inside search box, but do not make it empty)
(6)The search will cause a graphical bug where the search bar will move toward the left and lay over the Google logo

Able to reproduce the above issue on All-OS(Windows (7 & 10), Mac 10.11.5 & Ubuntu 14.04) with chrome versions: 51.0.2704.106(Stable), 52.0.2743.60(Beta) & 53.0.2785.8(Dev). This is a Non-regression issue as can be observed from M30 build "30.0.1549.0". Hence marking the same as Untriaged for further input. The overlapping can be seen on the above mentioned linked.

Thank you!

The issue is also present in Firefox and Safari. This is not a Chrome product issue, but rather the Search UI issue. Filed the bug with the Search team.
