I can access gmail, but the background image (space theme) and a lot of the header functions don't display. Screenshot also attached.
Since I can't access this site on my laptop, I've done my best to run the trouble shooting protocols and then save them in Dropbox so I could upload here via mobile... Sorry if anything is scrambled!
I have run BitDefender Total Security 2016 and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Home Edition, and neither found any errors / infections.

If you disable the SSL scanning feature in Bit Defender (it'll be called something like "Scan SSL" or "Scan encrypted connections" or "Scan HTTPS connections" or so), do things start working?

Oh, and in fact I see you mention that it doesn't work in Firefox or IE either. This makes it very unlikely this is a problem in Chrome. It's probably your antivirus or something on the network causing problems.

Thank you! The SSL scan setting fixed it. And yes, I had originally thought it was in Chrome only -- was just in testing for the error report that I discovered the other browsers were also affected. Has been driving me nuts -- appreciate the help!

Great! I'll go ahead and close this then. Unfortunately, I can't tell from the logs why BitDefender hit the error (the server is the one with the most information in these cases). It looks like we've had problems with BitDefender before ( issue #451840 ) and I think IE still has RC4, so it's probably not that. :-/ I'll see if I can contact them. Antivirus SSL scanning features cause more problems than they fix, so it's probably best to disable them anyway, but not all users will know to do this, so BitDefender should fix their product. |
