UI for configuring sleeping

Reported by msmig...@gmail.com, Jul 7 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS armv7l 8172.60.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.103 Safari/537.36
Platform: 8172.60.0 (Official Build) stable-channel veyron_minnie

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Please consider adding in the Settings window some options for configuring sleep times in Chrome OS. I am familiar with the Keep Awake extension and it performs some basic things but the end user should be able to configure the following:

1.) Whether or not the screen dims
2.) Whether or not the screen turns off
3.) Whether or not the system sleeps (ie disconnects network)
4.) How long of an idle time to trigger the above 3 scenarios.

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
NA

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 51.0.2704.103 Channel: stable
OS Version: 8172.60.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

Also, one further comment: those settings should be allowed to be configured in two modes: if running on battery and if plugged in. For example, if plugged in I might not want to sleep or dim the screen at all but I would want this to happen if running on battery.

Thank you for filing feedback! We prefer to both keep Chromebooks consistent and avoid overwhelming users with the number of settings, which is why we've decided not to add these options. Cases like these are better fit for extensions.

Actually, there are plans to add at least some of what you want -- see issue 633455 .

If you want fine-grained control over power management settings, you'll need to use enterprise policies: https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3

(All of the controls you mentioned are already supported there.)
