Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.106 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Name a PDF file with "#" in the middle. 2. Open with Chrome What is the expected behavior? PDF file should be opened. What went wrong? File not found Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 51.0.2704.106 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.3 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 Tested in Windows 8.1. Does not appear in Windows 7/10 and Chromebook. Escape # with %23 will solve the problem. In general, we know hash character should not be used in file name, but since other platforms don't have this issue, this should be considered as a bug.

I created a new user profile and here is my finding (Windows 10):
- Go to File Explorer, right click the PDF and click Open with > Google Chrome, File not found returned ('#' is not escaped automatically).
- In Google Chrome, navigate to the folder of the PDF, hovering the link of the page will show the link with correct escaping, click it and file is opened correctly.

This is a general problem pertaining to any files, not pdfs in particular. |
