Should clearing browsing history also clear tab history? |

Issue descriptionFrom playstore reviews: "Clear history not working properly. Once you clear history it is still possible to know which web sites one has visited. After clearing the history just press the back button and one gets the last site visited. Likewise go on pressing the back button and all visited sites are refreshed. This needs to be corrected." This isn't just true for android - desktop also allows you to go back through history and perhaps this isn't an unreasonable request? rpop/battre: does the feature have an owner and wdyt?

There is a number of bugs filed about how clearing history doesn't affect a) tab history and b) session restore. I'll be looking into this soon.

The problem with tab navigation history (i.e. the "Back" button) could be simply resolved by closing the tabs after deleting history. However, there's a larger problem - closed tabs will still appear in "Recent tabs", and if you use session restore, they can even survive browser restart. Currently, the "correct" way to get around all of that is: 1. Open the CBD dialog / history page in a new tab. 2. Close all other tabs. 3. Delete history. 4. Close Chrome. In that order. 2 before 1 would close Chrome 3 before 2 would leak history to recent tabs 4 not immediately after 3 would leak any activity taken in the meantime into session restore I'm currently looking into solutions for all of this, so reassigning to myself.
