Sync doesn't work on Chocolatey-installed Chromium

Reported by willem.m...@gmail.com, Jul 6 2016

Issue description

Chrome Version : 53.0.2784.0 (64-bit)
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
  OK: Google Chrome 51.0.2704.106 m (64-bit)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Set sync password
(2) Enable Yubikey 2FA
(3) Try to sync to Chromium

What is the expected result?
(1) Chromium sync login succeeds

What happens instead?
(1) After entering my email and password, I'm prompted to use my security key. Once I do so, the login screen disappears without any message and when I check if I'm logged in (by clicking the user icon next to the minify/close buttons) I'm not logged in.

Are there any logs that could help you? Where would I find those?

Three sets of logs, captured after reproducing the bug, would help to diagnose this:
1) A screenshot of the chrome://sync-internals/ page
2) A screenshot of the chrome://signin-internals/ page
3) The log from chrome://device-log

To be clear, in "(1) Set sync password" you're setting a sync passphrase, yes?
Yes, I mean a sync passphrase.

I have a fix for this problem: get Google API keys for Chromium and set them as environment variable. It seems like Chocolatey's Chromium build does not come with API keys; is this normal for Chromium distributions?

I don't think the screenshots will help much at this point, but here they are anyway:

Sync won't work without API keys, so I don't think this is a bug. Some customized chromium distros come with API keys but they don't typically come "out of the box." And sync specifically doesn't allow non-Chrome distros to distribute API keys.
