Can we please add Blink support for the new counter-styles spec in CSS, which is currently in CR? See https://www.w3.org/TR/css-counter-styles-3/.
This would enable people around the world to finally create list numbering and other counters that look more natural to them, rather than the current Western-biased situation.
Firefox has already added support. I don't think it's a lot of work to code the generic mechanism (the spec provides algorithms for the patterns). https://w3c.github.io/predefined-counter-styles/ (Fwiw, i created a simple web app to produce the basics at http://r12a.github.io/apps/counterconverter/ which may/may not be useful.)
For the predefined styles in the spec there are a set of tests at
https://www.w3.org/International/tests/repo/results/predefined-counter-styles which show results for Chrome.
Also fwiw, for testing the generic mechanism you can use https://w3c.github.io/predefined-counter-styles/ as a source for non-predefined rule sets.
