Block Chromium from repeatedly downloading.....

Reported by tiffany....@gmail.com, Jul 4 2016

Issue description

How do I block Chromium from downloading? I have removed it twice already via the control panel. I don't want it and while I love Chrome I will remove it if Chromium continues to appear. Please provide steps to block it from downloading again as it seems to automatically download with Chrome updates. I can't figure out how it is getting on any other way since I know I haven't agreed to have it downloaded.

+kerz to confirm the assertion below.

As far as I know, Google does not distribute Chromium builds. If this is true, then Chromium could not have been installed using any of the Chrome's updaters, including Omaha.

I assume this is Chromium on Windows.

We could offer ideas about how to investigate what is installing Chromium further on but the summary is that it is unlikely to be code that we own.
Interesting. I checked my downloads folder and its not there, yet the
program keeps appearing.
