Show scrolled file when open another code.

Project Member Reported by tikuta@chromium.org, Jul 4 2016

Issue description

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) open following link
https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/chrome/browser/spellchecker/spellcheck_service.h
(2) scroll down
(3) click spellcheck_service.cc

What is the expected output?
Is it better to open new file with no scroll?

It seems to remember the scroll position individually for each file. So if you were in the .cc before, had scrolled down, then went the the .h and back to the .cc, you'd get the original position.

Is that not what you're expecting?

Yes, if I open the file that already opened by me, the file is shown with remembered scroll position.

But, if I open a file for the first time, the file is shown with scroll position of previous file.

You can check the behavior with secret mode.
Eh I still don't understand, sorry. Can you describe some precise steps I can follow to reproduce the problem from scratch in an incognito window?

Comment 4 by tikuta@chromium.org, Jul 19 2016

OK.

(1) open following link in incognito window
https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/chrome/browser/spellchecker/spellcheck_service.h
(2) scroll down to bottom of the file
(3) click spellcheck_service.cc to open the file

In my machine, the file spellcheck_service.cc is shown stating from line 138 in above steps.
Is that not reproduced in your environment?
Nope, spellcheck_service.cc opens starting at the top for me. I'm using Chrome 51.0.2704.106.

Comment 6 by tikuta@chromium.org, Jul 19 2016

Hmm, that is strange.

My machine has same version of Chrome 51.0.2704.106 on Linux.
I checked that is reproduced on Chrome 51.0.2704.106 on Mac Book.

Can you check the behavior in other machine?
What is the reason of different behavior between your machine and my machine?

Someone fixes this bug?

It occurs in cs.chromium.org
But it does not occur in cs-staging.chromium.org

This bug is quite old and I can't repro it, closing. Please re-open if this is still a problem.
