Can you check what locale you have set in chrome://settings? TTS takes a second to load on startup, so that's perhaps why you're seeing something like this.

Chrome 63.0.3233.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) (cohort: 64-Bit) I am marking this as verified after having made my best effort since I do not speak Dutch nor German. Please feel free to reopen this issue if problems persist. Steps: Added German and Dutch languages, set Language to Dutch, rebooted. Pressed Ctrl + Alt + z to enable ChromeVox and it spoke in a female voice different from the English voice, which I am assuming is the Dutch voice. There were no voice changes, that is, it didn't sound like one was speaking and another took over. After the reboot and login, ChromeVox had been off so I had to toggle it back on. Some menus were still in English but most content was in Dutch. I verified in the languages section of settings that the language was Dutch. |
