Regression: Recorded trace data in 'Metrics' tab is not seen on Chrome://tracing page.

Chrome Version: 53.0.2785.0 Revision 68623971be0cfc492a2cb0427d7f478e7b214c24-refs/heads/master@{#403382}
OS: Windows(7,8,10), Mac(10.10.5, 10.11.4), Linux(14.04 LTS)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Launch chrome, navigate to chrome://tracing and record traces by clicking on Record button.
(2) Click on Metrics tab and observe.

Recorded trace data in 'Metrics' tab is not seen.

This is a regression issue, broken in 'M-53' ,will soon update the other info

Correction in step 2:

(2) Click on Metrics tab, select any drop down option and observe.

Able to reproduce the issue on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Adding RB Labels as this is a recent Regression. Please remove if not required.

That's a regression on Trace Viewer. My changes in src/tools/perf and src/content/test should not affect this.

From the narrow bisect range from comment 1, it may be related to the catapult roll r 402959. And the related catapult range is https://chromium.googlesource.com/external/github.com/catapult-project/catapult.git/+log/a4508713566b..b8081c5e8c38

3 CLs touched the Trace Viewer code. robertocn, skyostil and benjhayden, can you take a look?

Assigning to skyostil for now as his code touched the frame data side panel. Not very sure if it will affect the metrics tab. Please re-assign if it is not related.

I tried reverting to before the catapult roll and the bug is still there :P On first blush none of the other patches seem related either. Are we sure the revision range is correct?
