Clearing browsing data showing wrong number. |

Issue descriptionwhen trying to clear browsing data in privacy, seeing number ~50MB while there's no page in archives folder. Suspecting getting all page size is not protected by IsExpired().

The number "~50MB" is, I assume, next to the cache checkbox? That's the combined size of the HTTP and Media caches. What do you mean by "archives folder"?

the archives folder at org.chromium.chrome/app_chrome/Default/Offline Pages/archives which saves the saved pages. And the number is under the 'Cached images and files'. it will show 54.2MB even if I check the box and clear data. I suppose it's something I know, will check and see.

I see. If the offline pages storage can be of considerable size (which I assume it can), we should update CacheCounter to count them as well. I see that it was you who did the change in BrowsingDataRemover (https://codereview.chromium.org/1970423002) - do you want to take this? On the other hand, regardless of whether or not offline pages are included, deleting cache (from the beginning of time) should bring the counter to 0 (or more precisely <1MB). If that is not the case, then there's also a different problem. I cannot reproduce that on my side though.

SOrry i just noticed I didn't select the correct time range... once it's selected it's fine. However I'll still see the CacheCounter how it's calculating the size used by offline_pages. Thanks!

I think this issue can be closed. Seems like I did something wrong. Thanks! |
