Spell checking doesn't work on Facebook Comment sections

Reported by loginn...@gmail.com, Jun 30 2016

Issue description

features: The function that I need to be able to spell properly. :)

bugs: Write anything in the comment section on a web page using Facebook Comments.
I have four languages active (English UK, Danish, Swedish and German). They're all active in the settings. Spell checking works fine in any language on any other site I know of.
I have tried disabling languages individually and now I'm on this Canary Beta to see if it's any different.
I've tried resetting Chrome completely, even removed/replaced the user folder in the file system to get Chrome to recreate everything, but, the problem is not going away.

Able to see the spellcheck working fine.
Could you please provide a screen cast mentioning the issue description along with OS and chrome version used to reproduce it.

Moving this nonessential bug to the next milestone.

I was guessing this doesn't affect all. :D
I've created a small video capture of two browser tabs, one with a Facebook comment box and the other one on this bug report page.
It doesn't matter what settings I change my spell checking to in Chrome, it won't activate for me in Facebook comment boxes.

I'm running Windows 10 Professional. My language and regional setting in Windows is English (Ireland). The Chrome version I use is Version 53.0.2784.1 canary (64-bit). I have auto-updates enabled. This also happens with the latest version of the non-beta Chrome browser.

Did you enabled "use a web service to resolve spelling errors"?

Also, when you compare the Facebook connect page and other pages, would you mind trying the same text?
I did type the same words, "hello helo hello spellchekkk spell check". And it works on this page as you could see with the red underlines on every misspelled word, while nothing was spell checked on the Facebook comment page.

loginnamn@ : Thanks for the update, unable to reproduce the issue on Win 10(Dell precision M3800) using canary 54.0.2787.0.

Could you please try the same with a new profile and in incognito mode having no extensions in it.

Note : When enabled "use a web service to resolve spelling errors" too did not reproduce the issue.
Hi Durga,
I tested the ESPNFC site in incognito mode and then the spell checker works! So, yeah, it seems like it's some sort of plugin or extension issue. I have however tried disabling all extensions in normal mode without any success. :/

loginnamn@ : Thank you for the update.Could you please try on a fresh user profile(chrome://settings/createProfile).
As well you can try chrome clean-up tool if it helps clearing any unwanted softwares from your system and enhance the chrome performance.
https://www.google.com/chrome/cleanup-tool/
I've tested the cleanup tool previously (a couple of weeks ago), through another similar thread. That didn't help.
I just tried creating an extra profile, and with a clean profile spell checking actually works on pages like espnfc.com using the facebook comments!
It seems like it's something Facebook is doing with the text entry boxes, some sort of key logging perhaps? Because, when I logged into Facebook with my Facebook account on that new Chrome user, spell checking stopped working on Facebook comment sections again... :P

Thanks for the update.Closing the issue as per the comment # 12.
Please raise a separate issue if you have any issues using chrome further.
Again thanks for using chrome.
The issue is still there, and I'm not sure if it's because of Chrome or Facebook. I have reported it to Facebook as well. Though, I have no idea how they deal with and prioritise bug reporting.

I just resolved this issue, though not with Facebook, with all text-fields (For instance, the text entry field on this site).

Running Chrome across several machines, with the same issue across all machines. This possibly points to a back-end issue, however incognito and logging out don't seem to affect it.

Have just installed a brand-new Windows 10 machine, logged in, and got Australian spell-checking. I'm expecting English (UK) ;) In an attempt to resolve the issue, I added English (Australia), and now I have two values in my spell-check list, both of them English (Australia).

Upgrading to Version 53.0.2785.21 dev-m (64-bit) fixed the issue for me. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone else who is searching for a resolution.
I'm not reinstalling a beta again just because someone says, again, that it'll fix the issue. The issue is still there. Yes, they've finally managed to get it to show the installed language correctly, that works on the non-beta too, but the non-functional spellchecking in certain text boxes is still there.
