With Buffer extension added I am able to reproduce the issue on the latest canary(54.0.2794.0) on Windows-7, Mac OS 10.11.5 and Linux Ubuntu 14.04. Behaves the same on older chrome version: 35.0.1893.0. Marking this as 'Untriaged' and for more inputs on this.

This sounds like a bug in the extension itself, not the extensions platform. |
