Ripple effect in radio buttons "freezes" on application focus chane

open md settings

click on radio button, wait till ripple is done
tab away to a different app
tab away to chrome

You'll see that the radio button gets a blue circle around it (looks like ripple effect, so I blame ripple effect) that stays pretty much permanently.

Expected outcome is no blue circle :)

This is an issue with all elements -- the focus state is shown when you return from another page, and often the default focus state for Polymer elements feels too heavy. Need Alan's help once he's back.
