Issue descriptionChrome Version: 53.0.2783.0 (Official Build)956d75c97da94022381b07c336a4c258b04fb8bc-refs/heads/master@{#402676} 64 bit. OS: Mac (10.11.5) Steps: 1. Launch chrome and navigate to chrome://md-settings/ 2. Scroll down, click on Advanced and click 'CLEAR BROWSING DATA' 3. Observe. Actual: The grey transparent layer under the overlay does not stay. Expected: The grey transparent layer under the overlay should stay. This is a regression issue broken in M-53, will soon update the other info.

Seems very likely this is issue 624256 , crrev.com/2106843002 is in the range and was reverted. Someone with a Macbook, does this seem fixed on Mac on 53.0.2785.8 or later?
