What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Settings -> Languages and input section
2. Enable "Show input options in the shelf" setting
3. Open browser window and place cursor on any text input field
4. Open IME menu from shelf. Click on emoji to display emoji keyboard
5. Click on any emoji

What do you see instead?
Mouse pointer disappears. Movement on the touchpad makes mouse pointer to be visible again.
