ssh access in debug mode to chromebook flip is switched off after software update

Reported by pebaue...@gmail.com, Jun 26 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu Chromium/50.0.2661.102 Chrome/50.0.2661.102 Safari/537.36
Platform: 8481.2.0 dev_channel veyron_minnie

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. bring your device into debug mode with working ssh access and working root user login
2. wait for update to next version of chromiumos (dev-channel)
3. ssh access not possible after update

What is the expected behavior?
Once the device is switched to debug mode and ssh access is available - the ssh service, password settings and firewall rules schould allow ssh login after an update

What went wrong?
I can't login via ssh after update

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 53.0.2773.3 Channel: dev
OS Version: 53.0.2773.3
Flash Version: pepperflash 22.0.0.192-r1

Is there a workaround to re-enable debug mode ?

do you mean this https://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/how-tos-and-troubleshooting/debugging-features ?

I don't see suggestion that the debug mode will preserve across OS install.

So after every software update you need to go to the procedure of switching
to developer mode ? Is there a chance to switch of automatic software
updates or at least to choose the time ? This makes debugging really
akward. As always its your choice.
