(The Chromecast is working fine with other devices. i.e. I am able to stream content fine from my iOS iPhone and iPad) What went wrong? The latest Chrome update is likely the culprit. Did this work before? Yes prior to the latest chrome update Chrome version: 52.0.2743.49 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.11.5 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 I have check all other possible causes. Some additional info: Same issue here on Chromium 52.0.2743.116-1 Chromecast perfectly detectable from other devices and from same device but other apps (python-pychromecast). Network analysis reveals the chromecast extension doesn't send any mDNS queries on the network anymore. Same extension on latest *Chrome* 52.0.2743.116-1 works fine. Previous Chromium 51.0.2704.79-1 worked fine, the problem appeared somewhere between 51.0.2704.79-1 and 52.0.2743.82-2

This issue also broke the Chromecast-functionality of Linux Mint 17.3 chromium-browser after the update. Now installed Googles Google Chrome (which is currently Version 53.0.2785.92 (64-bit)) with their by themselves provided dpkg-file from the Google Chrome website. Chromecast-functionality is now fully functional again with that browser. Can't understand why this is here handled as nonessential with low priority.

Can confirm on Kubuntu 16.04 with chromium 52.0.2743.116, also the chromecast device works with other devices like my android phone.

Setup failing on Chromium is expected since the relevant code is provided only for official Google Chrome. If you're able to reproduce this problem on official Google Chrome, please add a comment to that effect.

Incase it's still a question, I can confirm that the chrome cast is now working and has been working for some time now |
