Calling preventDefault() on 'textInput' keeps marked text (from IME)

Version: Version 50.0.2661.75
OS: OS X 10.11.6

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Go to https://output.jsbin.com/jitucek/quiet
(2) Type using IME

What is the expected output?
Marked text should be removed and no confirmed text should be inserted.

What do you see instead?
Marked text remains selected.

Reason:
|InputMethodController::confirmComposition()| is trying to replace text, but got canceled.
